Dr Jolie Pfahler lives in Calabasas, closely tied to the community, graduated with a biology degree from USC, then graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine in 1994, with her residency at both UCLA Harbor and UCLA Olive View Medical Centers. She has extensive experience at Providence-St Johns Santa Monica Hospital and Los Robles Medical Center. That's a local expert.
Dr Pfhaler is quickly able to assess what ails you and discuss best treatment steps with you. As a physician Board Certified in Emergency Medicine she is perfect to address your ongoing or immediate medical concerns. Dr Jolie is a key member of this concierge medical group since 2021.
Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Tarzana and Malibu patients are a big part of HCDTO. We appreciate that Dr Pfahler loves to focus on our patients near her who want world class medical care. Interestingly HCDTO fairly often puts a doctor on a plane to support/consult our existing patients traveling to second homes in other states. The longest MD flight so far is to Bangalore, India. You can have that same world class level of care arriving easily today in Hidden Hills, Malibu, Tarzana, or from her Calabasas home next door.

Niclole Joel MD, extra skills for Calabasas
The other job for Dr Nicole is at the UCLA Olive View safety net clinic. Many of Dr Nicole’s other patients there have life situations that limit their ability to travel in to see specialists. The result for every other patient – she is VERY comfortable managing complex cardiac, diabetic and rheumatology cases with minimal specialist involvement.

Board-certified by ABIM (American Board Of Internal Medicine) since 2017, Dr Nicole is comfortable with the latest treatments in primary care. She has extensive experience in treating advanced cases of diabetes, asthma, heart disease, obesity, mental health and managing your entire overall health.
Dr Nicole Joel did her Internal Medicine residency at Olive View Medical center in 2014. Then later at UCSD Medical Center Dr Nicole served as both primary care attending physician and as a teacher for new resident physicians and medical students.
Dr Nicole graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and before that graduated magna cum laude from Miami University with a bachelors in zoology and a minor in finance.
Ellen Crowe MD, medical detective extraordinaire
Dr. Ellen Crowe started this medical group in 2011 because she was tired of a lifetime of patients who were stuck -- people could no longer find answers from the standard medical system. Those patients couldn't get enough time with the doctor, couldn't ask more than one question, couldn't get a timely appointment, bounced from specialist to specialist. That motivated Dr Crowe to start HCDTO.
