"Dr Nicole" Joel, Internal Medicine, ABIM

Her other work at a UCLA safety net clinic means that many of Dr Nicole’s other patients have life situations that limit their ability to travel in to see specialists. That results in her being very comfortable managing complex cardiac, diabetic and rheumatologist cases with minimal specialist involvement.  So you'll get great answers at home.

One of the most interesting aspects of this medical group is that our physicians need to bring an exceptional level of communication and empathy to their patient discussions. Dr Nicole Joel’s skills fit our team. We are only slightly kidding when we notice that “Mom of 2+ children” seems to be a defining characteristic for those skills across this medical group.  There is also a smart happy puppy bouncing around in the mix.  We know because her dog is welcome to spend the day at here at HCDTO's Bat Cave (...helping or distracting staff scheduling)

Dr Nicole pays attention to details -- and realized that her husband "Dr Ian" would be a great match for this medical group.  She helped recruit him to join this team in 2024. 

Dr Nicole graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and before that graduated magna cum laude from Miami University with a bachelors in zoology and a minor in finance. 

Some of her other scholarly activities include time spent as a clinical research assistant separately at University of Chicago Department of Medicine and at also at Children's Memorial Injury and Prevention Research Center in Chicago.
